In one recent post I talked about how to reduce typos in your blog post. Embarrassingly, it wasn’t 100% effective because I noticed I was still making some mistakes (not typos but omissions) in my posts.
But now I think I have a more effective method, I tried it for a couple of posts and loved the result.
It is quite simple.
When you are typing or proof reading your post, read it to your hearing.
Let me say that again, when you are prove reading your post to remove errors and typos, read it to your hearing.
This does 2 things.
- It makes your write your post like a normal conversation which is highly recommended
- It reduces typos, omissions, checks grammar and your sentence structure.
Try it and share your results, let’s know how effective it works for you.

Really good point, but I think you have a typo in your post. Shouldn’t it be ‘proof reading’ not ‘prove reading’?

Interesting point, I’ll have to try this one out. I heard reading your post backwards would help you pick out errors although I haven’t tried that one either. I usually just let my fingers flow and reread the post once or twice – I feel like that helps keep my posts very personal.
