Blogging Tools You Should Use

Written by Mk Akan

Topics: Blogging Tips

There are a few free tools on the internet that are very useful to bloggers and even non bloggers alike.

A few are;

1. Google Alert

If you haven’t heard of this sweet Google tool, it is a service that let’s you virtually eavesdrop on the internet. All you do is pop in some keywords related to your niche or subject.

When and wherever these keywords are mentioned on the internet, this service will mail it to straight to your email box. For example if you target “Baby shower gifts” (don’t know why this topic come to my head) when ever this phrase is mentioned online, the website, blog, post will be forwarded to your email.

This is just one way of using Google alert.

Other Ways of Using Of Google Alert

  • Monitor what is said about you online. Just pop in your name and you will get alerts about your name.
  • What and where your blog/website is mentioned online. Pop in your blog URL or domain and receive alert on link low mentions and other places where it is mentioned.
  • Research a niche-pop in a problem question and discovery how many people are asking it or talking about it. E.g. how to choose a word press blog theme.

To use this tool, you need to have a Google account. With this you can access and enjoy the free tool.

2. Tweet beep

This could be called a Google alert for twitter. It works exactly like Google alert but is purely for twitter. Someone (can’t remember) once described twitter as “a big party with millions of people talking at the same time”. With this tool you can easily spy and find out what people are talking about a particular interest or subject.

You can use tweet beep to do the same things done with Google alert.

To use tweet beep you need to register with the website and have a twitter account.

When they keywords and phrase you are targeting are tweeted out by other users on twitter, these tweets will be sent to your email. From there you can reply the tweets or do what ever you want with them.

Please Let’s Discuss

  • Are you using these tools already?
  • What are you using them for?
  • Are there similar tools available online?
  • What other ways can we use these tools?

Thank you for your comments they are highly appreciated.
